That was my first thought too, but I've now tested each card individually and they are both fine. I know it sucks but that was the only way I was able to even get it working. I got the XFX HD 6770 running at 55 - 64 fps. http://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/496881136897865253/ Hopefully there will be a patch soon. #4 akurma View Profile View Posts Nov 11, 2015 @ 6:06am same issue, after 4 hours of playing i get this same error

If so, the crash was definitely related to the HD4870. On the 4th, it closed the Skyrim window. I also have a xonar sound card and an intel 240gb ssd all running off of an A88X-Pro mobo.

Now, I know what you are thinking, and yes, I updated the drivers after the first crash, happened 2 more times after that.

cpham111Nov 20, 2011, 11:37 PM I think this mod fixes the crashing problem as well as doubles or triples the game's performance. setting skyrim laucher to compatability for vista sp2 fixed it for me.Its in the steamapps folder, I launch it from there instead of through steam and all is well...... I only just built this computer and just threw in whatever card and power supply I had lying around while I was waiting for the final parts, so no overclocking or GameFAQs Answers Boards Community Contribute Games What’s New PCRole-PlayingWestern-StyleThe Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimFAQsAnswersBoardMoreHomeSummaryRelease DataGame CreditsAlso PlayingCollection StatsGame TriviaFAQsCheatsCheatsAchievementsReviewsReader ReviewsCritic ReviewsImagesVideosAnswersBoard Is Skyrim crashing for anyone else? Peace. If it happens in other games, specifically ones not as graphically intense, than you would need a shiny new graphics card. I wouldn't be surprised, however, as Oblivion was similar when it first came out.The problem is that these games are optimized to run on 6 year old console hardware(I'm sure almost I made it up to the first room where you get your initial weapons and then decided it's unplayable.

I'm guessing what's happening here is the display driver crashes, then Windows attempts to restart the driver, but fails, at which point the computer seizes. Since I bought the steam version I couldnt play more than 30 minutes without the BSOD, I'm hoping its just a version issue and they will fix it soon enough.

Still, if it is SLI related, why would it have taken 25 hours of game play to manifest itself, and then become a non stop issue? I've tested everything on the default settings, reinstalled the drivers, but to no avail. actually list the full spec if you can ambamNov 12, 2011, 10:30 PM AntiZig said: what settings are you running the game at?what are the running temperatures?what CPU do you have? actually list the full spec if you can I have a Core i7 930 @2.8 GHz, two Radeon HD 5870's (1GB) in Crossfire, and 6GB of RAM.I'm running the game on
