is this an issue with the latest CAT drivers (5.10-11), or all of them (5.9 and back)? They have AI, and I'd imagine the DNA drivers also have AI. I ended up forcing it to play in speaker mode while the headsets were in and the problem fixed it self. Anyways, I think I'll be buying F.E.A.R. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=161876
I feel disappointed because my previous Nvidia card had no issues with this game Are there any known fixes? I keep my OS very clean. If you select high in Doom 3 and you have 128MB card then you'll have stuttering because card can't load all textures in the memory.

I think it is the same thing with FEAR where medium setting is for 128MB card and high for 256MB cards. when's ATI implementing that FEAR.EXE fix? Show Ignored Content As Seen On Welcome to Tech Support Guy! http://theblognovice.com/2015/09/02/n1g1q2-ati-driver-fix-fear/ I have shadow issues in battlefield 2 & the water appears strange in lock on.
Martin Oops! Because it's VERY easy to run out of local memory in this game (just like BF2)... If the test comes out exactly the same, patch applied but no performance increase, then you know it's AI. I don't know anything about non-ATi drivers, it's been a long time since I've felt any need to play around with them (back when I had my 9700 Pro, it seems). p0rnflake AMD Radeon Discussion and Support 7 Apr 28, 2001 03:16 PM All times are GMT -5. P4 and X800XT PE here btw. Personally, the only time I get any stuttering in FEAR is when it saves, and that is even slight, using an 8800gts 320.
what is wrong. Run the Catalyst install manager, uninstall all your ATI stuff. Here is my test just now in 5.11s with FEAR.EXE versus PHEAR.EXE: http://users.adelphia.net/~jrockcls/FEARexe.gif http://users.adelphia.net/~jrockcls/PHEARexe.gif That's a gain of 4 to the minimum and the maximum fps just by renaming the exe Looked great Played awesome what a cool game...great ending BTW.
