Ati Driver Installer 8.32 5 X86 X86_64

This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. I lookedin /usr/portage/distfiles and only found this ati file on the portable: ati-driver-installer-8.35.5-x86.x86_64.run so I downloaded the other files from a similar amd 64 system where I use ati-drivers: ati-driver-installer-8.27.10-x86_64.run ati-driver-installer-8.30.3.run Zibi1981 View Public Profile View LQ Blog View Review Entries View HCL Entries Find More Posts by Zibi1981 12-17-2006, 02:55 AM #2 Zibi1981 Member Registered: Dec 2006 Location: Poland so I thought I'd just add an entry to /etc/portage/package.keywords and try another version (8.39.4) that works fine on another system. news

Your post seems to explain it well , I guess the ATI uninstall doesn't reset libGl correctly for the dynamic linker. http://advianetwork.com/ati-driver/ati-driver-installer-8-23-7.html Older releases worked without that. The strange thing is i did not find a posting describing the same error which is normally the case. Hope this helps, Mark On 9/2/07, james wrote: > Hello, > > Im installing a new dell laptop.

I recompiled gcc, just for grins. Hmm, I routinely reinstall the mesa-libGL library (currently mesa-libGL-6.5.1-8.fc6) after uninstalling ATI drivers, otherwise I have problems with libGl, but perhaps the rpm reinstall just resets something else rather than restoring Since it is a new install, I mostly > missed something, xorg-x11 is there.

I hope this helped.

My question is when i do it conflicks with the already installed ati drivers how do I uninstall them???? Thx in advance And, of course, here are my: "lspci" output... Any help would be nice. It was a lot trickier to get XGL running than what you've posted...

Follow these instructions: sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf_bkp sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf Add this to xorg.conf file, you can put it at the very end: Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "Disable" EndSection Open Code: shutdown -r now After the reboot you can test if everything went fine. If you have an older nvidia chipset follow the procedure in the legacy driver section.
