In CS6 the 3D mode is grayed out and disable due to driver for GPU needing to be updated.

That's a lose-lose in my opinion and Adobe should and can do better not to exclude professional graphic designers like myself who have bought and used Adobe products since the 1980's. The actual bootcamp program in the support files didn't install, so windows didn't know I was running bootcamp.
