To transfer audio and video in the same cable you must use a HDMI to HDMI connection. Finally got it figured out.The onboard HDMI sound on the card was just over-riding the auto-detect feature for the motherboard. Anyone have any ideas on this? Well crap cause I can only get stereo through the HDMI using Blur Ray. I just went into the BIOS and changed the onboard sound option to "Enabled" instead of "auto-detect." It does not allow audio with this cable even though some of the reviews on this cable said that it does transmit audio. With the exception of the 5xxx series which doesn't need a converter because it has native HDMI outputs. Windows then automatically downloaded a set of HDMI drivers for sound and I am still left with zero options. and there is no quality difference from using the adaptor, to native HDMI.
